The Cradley Parish Council ‘Small Donations’ Sub-CommitteePurpose: To provide small donations to individuals and not-for-profit groups, for the enhancement and benefit of the area and residents, of Cradley, Storridge parishTerms of reference1. The Small Donations Sub-committee is set up and answerable to the Parish Council.2. The small donations sub-committee will make recommendations to the parish Council for appropriate funding requests.3. The Small Donations sub-committee are not authorised to make donations directly4. ‘Small donations’ shall be within a range set by the full Parish Council at any time by typically annually. Note: For Parish Council year 2016/17, this is £25-£1005. The Small donations sub-committee may engage in promotion, fundraising, or any other activity in connection with the scheme. 6. The Small donations sub-committee shall elect a chair, who will hold a casting vote, on recommendations and be responsible the holding of proper records. The Chair may delegate such tasks as they see fit.7. The Small donations sub-committee may co-opt individuals as the Chair see fit. 8. All members shall at all times work in accordance with The Nolan PrinciplesDuties9. Individuals and not-for-profit organisations need not be based within the Parish, but all use(s) of funding must be within the Parish boundary.10. Only one application will be considered per use, per year.11. All applications must be on the appropriate application form, signed by the applicant12. Dialogue with applicants is encouraged to assist in making recomendations13. In the event of greater applications than funds, the following shall act as a guide to selection.Applications having the greatest community benefitWill the application benefit; Vulnerable or less fortunate parishionersHave previous applications been made?Amount, if any, of ‘match funding’

Guidance notes to ApplicantsPLEASE READ BEFORE COMPLETING FORMDear applicant, the aims of this parish-funded scheme are ‘To provide small donations to individuals and not-for-profit groups, for the enhancement and benefit of the area and residents, of Cradley, Storridge parish.’ We therefore encourage you to apply for funding between £25 and £100 for any activity that meets with these aims, subject to the approval of the Parish Council and criteria of the group. Please note that funds may not permit us to support all applications, in part or in full.There are no specific requests that are excluded provided they adhere to the scheme aims. However, the following can be used a guidance.There are three main types of application:1. Individuals or groups that wish to enhance the beauty of the parish public areasAssistance with seed, flower, tree planting The adding of wildlife habitat or mammal/bird protection/feedingNote: Maintenance is excluded. All requests should be addressed to the Parish lengthsman scheme coordinator for highways/footpaths work, or the Parish Clerk2. Community groups where the request is outside of their normal operation and funding would provide ‘something extra’ that would not otherwise be considered3. Items that would enhance the well being of private individuals in private areas (typically back gardens) that cannot bee seen by the public. Applications of this type would normally be only considered by parishioners being mainly or fully housebound. You are encouraged to apply at any time of the year but it is likely that due to the limed funds, applications will be grouped together before a decision is made. We will aim to advise you of the outcome within 1-2 months of application, if not sooner. If you request is urgent, please indicate this and we will try to process without delay.
